Tourism is one of the important industry sectors in the Gulf region which is developing rapidly. Many development projects will be completed in the near future and as a result, diverse job opportunities are awaiting students who study Regional Management and Tourism at GUtech.

The GUtech BSc in Sustainable Tourism and Regional Development creates a link between day-to-day teaching at our campus in Muscat and direct interaction with administrative, industrial and service partners in the Sultanate and abroad. As students progress through their degree courses they can choose between three fields of specialisation: General Regional Management, Regional and Spatial Analysis or Tourism Promotion. All BSc students conclude their four year studies with a Bachelor thesis project.

Graduates of the GUtech BSc in Sustainable Tourism and Regional Development will be able to work in a number of different areas: Management of regional economic development, management of tourism promotion and development, marketing of cities and regions, organisation and coordination of innovation-oriented regional development, planning and assessment of infrastructure development, implementation and management of national parks, consultancy in location development, administration of regional and national statistics, supervision of sustainable regional development and protection of the environment.

GUtech BSc graduates may apply for admission into the Master's degree programmes at GUtech, RWTH Aachen University - GUtech's German partner university or any other university around the globe.
